Gone with the tide

EDMOND ARREY (E.L.D. CORNERSTONE)

regret after the tide.jpg

Gone with the tide When the sea was deep and rich My boat was new but I was lazy. When the storms were but miles away I confess, I was asleep in passivity. Now, the storm rages forth I, in my unprepared head, I call. Yet as the echoes come back to me Still, I can't recognize emptiness. My nets I begin to fix An endeavor almost too late to start. Ah! I finally realize, The storm and tide have come Many have harvested from lady Atlantic. But aye, it seems barren now. Sand and debris are all around Hmm. The tide has come and gone. No wonder the air is still again Gone with the wind. The wind! Gone with the tide!
